Yep. Two of my favorite things brought together. Pulled Pork and Pizza. It’s an awesome combination!
You can go any way you like with the pizza part. Make your own dough from scratch, use a pre-made shell, anything goes.
Here’s my pulled pork recipe:
The secret to this is an overnight dry spice rub. I use salt, pepper, cumin, corriander, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, and smoked paprika. Coat the entire pork loin roast or pork shoulder with the rub. Place into a sealed plastic bag with a splash of apple cider vinegar and refrigerate overnight.
Next morning…Roughly chop an onion and place in the bottom of your Crock Pot. Add a 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar. Place your spice-rubbed pork on top of the onions. Hit with a little more kosher salt and some olive oil. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Shred the pork, onions, and liquid all together.
Gotta Have Slaw with It:
No mayonnaise here. I either dress with fresh lemon juice, salt, and olive oil. OR
A sweet and sour Asian version: rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, sesame seeds, honey, and salt.
Build the Flavors:
- Pizza dough/shell
- BBQ sauce
- Sliced White American Cheese
- Pulled Pork
- Bake at 450 degrees for about 10 minutes
- Top with Slaw and devour
